The Secret Of An NFL Player: His Skills

Football is a famous ball game not only in America, but also all around the world. It is a collision sports that involves tackling opponent for defense. One of its most famous leagues is the National Football League (NFL), which is the highest level of professional American football in the United States. Players who dreamt of being part of this league should be able to pass the qualifications. Lucky are the football players who were given opportunities to play in NFL, and one of these is Cade McNown.

Cade McNown started his career as a pro-football player when the Chicago Bears selected him as a quarterback during the 1999 NFL Draft. At that time, many people raised their eyebrows for he was considered to be not that tall, not that quick, and not that strong arm. He, however, proved them wrong. The 22-year old left-hander said that it’s the skill that matters, and not only the physical attributes of a player. He was fully confident that he deserved the pick. His confidence was supported by his gleaming statistics and achievements at UCLA. He got the pac-10 co-offensive player of the year, the Pop Warmer Memorial Trophy for the best senior player of the West Coast, and the MVP award at the Super Bowl.

With what Cade McNown had achieved throughout his professional football career, inspired many aspiring football players, whether small or slow or weak, to strive for the best to be able to stand a chance for the NFL. As what he said “I’d like to be 4 feet 3 inches; then I could throw under the pass rushers. I wouldn’t change my height for anything. Most great quarterbacks, there’s something quirky about them. I’m just looking forward to the challenge. It’s the next step.”
